Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A red Jaldar rug with an all-over lattice of lobed floral medallions: a net of narrow bands divides the field into compartments, and each one holds a small medallion of petals and leaves around a star-shaped centre, set in staggered rows so the pattern reads as one continuous net. Diamond-shaped motifs sit where the bands meet, and half-medallions at the edges suggest the lattice runs on beyond the rug. A wide main border of hooked arrowhead motifs, between guard stripes of small flowers, frames the design, with fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 245×255cm (about 4.5 tatami) this is a large square rug, well suited to a living room or a dining room.

Material: wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives the rug body and resilience, while the silk adds a subtle sheen and depth of colour that changes as the light moves across it.

Silk is more delicate than wool, so this rug is happiest in a living or dining room rather than a busy entrance, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar rugs are woven in Pakistan in the Turkmen tradition; the name comes from the net-like lattice that divides the field into compartments. This large square piece is a less common, more decorative take on the design. Instead of the usual stepped diamond güls, each compartment of the net holds a lobed floral medallion of petals and leaves around a small star-shaped centre, and the medallions change from row to row, so the field has a lively, jewel-like rhythm. Diamond motifs mark the points where the bands of the lattice meet, and half-medallions cut off at the edges make the net feel as if it runs on beyond the rug. A wide main border of hooked arrowhead motifs, between guard stripes of small flowers, frames the whole, and the pile is finished with fringe at both ends. Silk in the pile gives the details a soft glow. A square rug of this size suits a living room or sits neatly under a dining table.
