Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in living and dining rooms.

A large plain field like this shows the pile direction clearly, so it can look lighter or darker depending on how it is brushed, and strong sunlight can fade it unevenly.

This is one of the simplest and most calming layouts a rug can have. The centre is left completely open, and the only pattern is a double frame of small squares running around the edge. In each row, solid squares alternate with open outlined ones in a steady rhythm, and the two rows are offset so the eye moves along them easily. The squares are not ruled perfectly straight: some tilt a little and the spacing shifts slightly, which gives the border a relaxed, hand-drawn quality. With so much open ground, the rug lets furniture, light and the soft movement of the wool take centre stage. Shipping is free on orders of ¥150,000 or more (approx. $1,000 / £790 / €920); orders below that ship at a ¥15,000 flat rate (approx. $99 / £79 / €92). Each rug is carefully rolled and wrapped. Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, then take 7 to 15 business days in transit. Every order ships with tracking. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
