A teal Jaldar rug in a modern, minimal style: the open field is left almost plain, scattered only with small diamond flowers set in staggered rows, so the eye reads the quiet outline of a Jaldar net rather than a busy pattern. Fine double lines frame the field, and a border of the same small diamond flowers runs all the way round, with fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 62×87cm this is an extra small rug, ideal for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A plain, deep ground like this hides everyday marks well and shows the natural play of light across the pile, which looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar rugs are woven in Pakistan in the Turkmen tradition; the name comes from the net-like lattice that links the motifs across the field. This small piece is a modern, pared-back take on the design. Instead of rows of large güls, the field is left almost plain, with only small diamond flowers set in staggered rows, so the Jaldar net is suggested rather than drawn. Fine double lines frame the field, and a border of the same small diamond flowers runs all the way round, keeping the look calm and uncluttered. The pile is finished with fringe at both ends. The deep teal ground gives the rug a cool, contemporary feel that sits easily in a modern home. A rug of this size is made for an entrance, a bedside or any small space that wants a quiet touch of colour underfoot.
