Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A large-scale all-over floral sprawls across a deep charcoal-grey field in this hand-knotted rug, its blooming palmettes, peonies and scrolling leaves worked in soft gold, tan and cream. The overdyed, antique-washed finish softens the grand traditional design into something quiet and contemporary — dramatic slate-grey at a glance, with richly detailed botanical work emerging up close, framed by a matching floral border.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from a blend of hand-spun wool and lustrous silk (80% wool, 20% silk), the pile is dense and soft, and the silk highlights lift the gold tracery so the pattern shifts as you move. Coloured with natural dyes and knotted entirely by hand, the gentle abrash and slight irregularities mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 80 percent hand-spun Afghan wool and 20 percent silk. The wool is naturally rich in lanolin for softness and easy care, while the silk adds a subtle sheen and depth of colour.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • For silk-blend rugs, use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Overdyed rugs take a finely knotted, traditional Oriental floral and wash it under a single deep tone, so the grand botanical design reads as a soft, antique haze — here against a dramatic charcoal grey. Woven in Afghanistan from a wool-and-silk blend, the silk lifts the gold and cream tracery with a subtle sheen, while natural dyes give the ground its smoky, weathered depth. Every flower is knotted by hand, the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
