Neat rows of Turkmen güls in charcoal-black and warm gold sit across a soft sandy-beige field, each octagonal medallion linked by delicate cross motifs. The muted, earthy palette gives this Bokhara a calm, understated elegance that settles easily into a warm or neutral room.

A deep run of narrow guard borders in black, gold and cream — stars, rosettes, diamonds and hooked bands — frames the field on every side, drawing the eye inward to the ordered rows of medallions. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border line. Worked entirely by hand with warm, natural-looking dyes, the beige ground carries a gentle abrash and each medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Bokhara rugs trace their name to the old Silk Road city of Bukhara, where Turkmen weavers ordered their fields with rows of güls — quartered octagonal medallions repeated in disciplined rows. This piece works the design in charcoal-black and gold on a soft sandy-beige ground, an earthy, restrained take on the classic. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every medallion is drawn by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind rug.
