Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

This rug fills a deep, near-black ground with an all-over garden in full bloom. Scrolling vines, broad palmettes, open blossoms and pomegranate motifs spread symmetrically across the field, worked in a rich, antique-feeling palette of gold, olive green, rust, salmon, dark red and cream. There is no single medallion; instead the whole surface reads as a dense, glowing garden seen at dusk, every corner alive with flowers.

A deep, intricate floral border wraps the field, its dark ground carrying palmettes, rosettes and quatrefoil medallions in red, gold, green and cream — a frame as detailed as the field itself. A navy-black outer edge and ivory fringe complete the piece. The dark ground makes the warm gold and green of the flowers glow, giving this classical garden design a dramatic, jewel-like depth.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan with the fine Persian double knot, the rug is woven in pure wool on a cotton foundation — the pile dense and even, the floral detail extraordinarily fine, finished with a hand-tied ivory fringe. Dramatic yet warm, a dark multicolour rug like this anchors a living room, dining room or study and flatters both antique and contemporary settings. As a hand-knotted original, it is genuinely one of a kind. Woven with the persian double knot.

The all-over garden design covers the entire field with flowering vines and palmettes, turning the carpet into a woven image of a paradise garden in full bloom. Unlike a medallion rug, it has no single focal point; the pattern flows in every direction, rewarding close and repeated looking, a style perfected in the great floral workshops of Isfahan and Tabriz.

Set against a night-dark ground and worked in a mellow, multicoloured palette, the flowers seem to glow from within, lending the classical design a rich, antique character. Rewoven by hand in Pakistan in pure wool, the rug's small irregularities of line and colour are the signature of the weaver's hand, not flaws — the mark of a true one-of-a-kind piece.
