Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A rust rug with a quiet modern design: across a warm, streaky ground, a few large rectangles and open frames are drawn in a slightly deeper tone of the same colour, placed off-centre so the composition feels loose and relaxed. The edges of the blocks are feathered rather than sharp, so they seem to fade into the ground.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan in wool. Fine streaks of lighter and darker tone run across the width of the whole rug, giving the colour movement and depth. There is no border. At 196×302cm this is a large rug for a living room or dining room.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in living and dining rooms.

A warm, saturated colour like this hides everyday marks well, but can fade unevenly in strong direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

This is a contemporary design that works almost entirely in one colour. A handful of large rectangles and open, bracket-like frames are set across the rug in a slightly deeper tone than the ground, scattered off-centre near the edges and corners rather than arranged symmetrically. Their edges are feathered and broken, as if brushed on, so the shapes drift in and out of view. Because the blocks and the ground are so close in tone, the rug reads from across the room as a warm field of colour, and the shapes appear only as you come closer. Natural streaks in the wool add a further layer of texture. With no border and no traditional motifs, the rug suits a modern living or dining room that wants warmth and quiet character.
