Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep madder red Bokhara rug with ten güls in two columns of five, each a stepped octagon with pointed tips and a small four-petal cross at its centre. A column of smaller stepped diamond güls runs between them, and half-diamonds cut into the field along the edges, giving the ground a scalloped outline. A main border of linked comb and ram's-horn motifs frames the field, and each end carries a band of large star-shaped medallions.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 80×122cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight.

This rug follows the Turkmen and Bokhara arrangement of major and minor güls on a deep, rich ground. Ten major güls stand in two columns of five, each a stepped octagon with pointed tips at its sides and a small four-petal cross at its heart, close in spirit to the classic Tekke gül. A single column of smaller stepped diamond güls runs between them, and along the sides and ends half-diamonds cut into the field, giving the ground a scalloped outline and making the repeat seem to continue beyond the rug. The main border is a chain of linked comb and ram's-horn motifs, an old Turkmen device often read as a symbol of strength and protection. What sets this piece apart is its ends: each closes with a wide band of large star-shaped medallions linked edge to edge, a richer elem than usual. The silk adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.
