Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Rows of ikat diamonds in gold, tan and black ripple across a warm brown ground, their edges deliberately blurred in the feathered style of classic ikat weaving. The play of light and dark lozenges gives the rug a bold, tribal-modern rhythm full of movement.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun highland wool, the rug translates the dyed-thread look of ikat into deep, tactile pile. Naturally dyed and tied knot by knot, its shifting tones are the signature of a single weaver and a true one-of-a-kind, a warm, characterful foundation made to last a lifetime.

Ikat is named for the resist-dyeing of yarns before weaving, which gives its motifs their soft, feathered edges. Here that effect is hand-knotted into wool: columns of gold and black diamonds blurring into a warm brown ground.

The earthy brown-and-gold palette with black accents makes it warm but striking, a confident choice that still reads as neutral. As a hand-knotted one-of-a-kind, no other rug shares its exact diamonds and shading.
