A wheat gold Bokhara rug with twelve güls in two columns of six, each a squared, stepped gül with pointed tips at the sides and a small cross at its centre. Small stepped diamond güls sit in a column between them, and half-diamonds cut off at the long edges suggest the pattern continues beyond the rug. A wide border of small comb-like motifs, framed by narrow guard stripes, and end bands of four-petal flowers in rounded frames complete the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 80×130cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

This rug follows the Turkmen and Bokhara arrangement of major and minor güls on a calm, open field. Twelve major güls stand in two columns of six, each a squared, stepped shape with pointed tips at its sides and a small cross at its heart, drawn with a crisp, almost architectural outline. A single column of small stepped diamond güls runs between the two columns, and along the long sides half-diamonds are cut off by the border, so the repeat seems to continue beyond the rug. With generous space around every motif, the design feels light and well-ordered. A wide border of small comb-like motifs, framed by narrow guard stripes, surrounds the field, and at each end a band of four-petal flowers set in rounded frames closes the design. The silk adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
