Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Elegant and intricate, this rug spreads a glowing all-over garden across a deep black ground. There is no formal medallion — only a faint central rosette amid a continuous web of scrolling vines, palmettes, and blossoms in soft gold, sage, rust, and ivory. The dark field throws the warm gold tracery forward, so the whole surface seems to shimmer.

A broad soft-gold border of leafy vines and palmettes frames the field, finished with fine guard stripes — luminous against the black centre. Gold is the rug’s true keynote: it fills the border and threads through every flower and vine, while the black ground gives the design depth and drama. Touches of rust, green, and ivory keep the floral work lively up close.

Hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with the tight double knot, the rug carries the high knot density and refined, even drawing of a fine city-style weave. Its black-and-gold palette is both formal and warm, bringing depth and quiet opulence to a living room, study, or bedroom. As a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, no other rug shares its exact colours, drawing, or character. Woven with the persian double knot.

  • Vacuum regularly without a beater bar, and rotate the rug periodically for even wear

  • Professional rug cleaning recommended; avoid harsh chemicals and machine washing
  • Use a rug pad to prevent slipping and reduce wear
  • Light shedding is natural for hand-knotted wool and eases with time

An all-over floral design covers the whole field with a continuous pattern of vines, palmettes, and blossoms, without a central medallion to fix the eye. Rooted in the classical city workshops of Persia such as Isfahan and Tabriz, it evokes an endless, abundant garden, meant to feel as though it continues beyond the rug’s borders.

Setting this garden on a black ground and lighting it with soft gold is a bold, relatively rare choice that gives a very traditional pattern a dramatic, sophisticated mood. Rewoven by hand in Pakistan in fine wool, its small irregularities are the mark of the weaver’s hand, not flaws.
