Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Dramatic and richly detailed, this rug sets a glowing all-over garden against a deep black ground. There is no central medallion — instead, scrolling vines, palmettes, and blossoms in gold, rust, sage, and ivory spread edge to edge across the field, so the whole surface reads as one continuous, intricate pattern. The black background makes every colour leap forward.

A wide camel-gold border of palmettes and serrated leaves frames the field, edged with red and ivory guard stripes — a warm, luminous contrast to the dark centre. The interplay of black and gold gives the rug a formal, almost regal presence, while the rust, green, and ivory floral accents keep it lively and warm up close.

Hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with the tight double knot, the rug carries the high knot density and fine, even drawing of a quality city-style weave. Black-ground rugs are prized for the way they anchor and dramatise a room; this one would bring depth and elegance to a living room, study, or bedroom. As a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, no other rug shares its exact colours, drawing, or character. Woven with the persian double knot.

  • Light shedding is natural for hand-knotted wool and eases with time

An all-over floral design covers the entire field with a repeating pattern of vines, palmettes, and blossoms, with no central medallion to draw the eye to one point. Rooted in the classical city workshops of Persia, it represents an endless, abundant garden — a design meant to feel limitless, continuing beyond the borders of the rug.

Setting this garden on a black ground is a bolder, more dramatic choice than the usual ivory or red, and a relatively rare one. The dark field deepens the colours and gives the traditional pattern a modern, sophisticated edge. Rewoven by hand in Pakistan in fine wool, its small irregularities are the mark of the weaver’s hand, not flaws.
