An ivory field carrying an all-over design of long serrated leaves and palmettes on a scrolling vine — no medallion, just a pair of small pale blue lozenges marking the centre line. The leaves are the feature: drawn as curving blades with sawtooth edges, they sweep across the ground at a much larger scale than the flowers around them. A wide coral main border of flowering vine frames the whole, backed by taupe guard bands and a fine outer stripe. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool, fully curvilinear throughout. The palette is warm and light — ivory, coral, taupe, gold, wine and pale blue — and the drawing is deliberately open, with the ivory ground left visible between the motifs rather than filled in. At 155×195cm this is a compact rug, suited to a study, a bedroom, beside a bed or in front of a fireplace, where a room-sized piece would be too much. A pale ground will show traffic more readily than a dark rug would.
