Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A warm honey gold field sets off bold sunburst and cloudband medallions in red and teal-blue, their serrated leaves and hooked arms radiating across the ground, in this hand-knotted Afghani Sherwan. Rows of small octagonal güls, cross-stars and tribal figures fill the spaces between, all framed by a deep-red border of eight-pointed rosettes with navy guard stripes. It has the bold, high-contrast drawing of a classic Caucasian Eagle-Kazak weave.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and finely knotted, giving sharp definition to every motif and border. Coloured with natural dyes and worked entirely by hand, the tones glow with gentle abrash and every figure is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Afghani Sherwan rugs revive the crisp geometry of the old Caucasus — Shirvan, Kuba and Kazak weavings. Here a warm ivory field carries bold sunburst and cloudband medallions in red and blue, their serrated leaves and hooked arms radiating outward above rows of small güls and star-flowers, framed by a deep-red border of rosettes. Finely knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
