A vivid red field is scattered with tribal medallions and diamond lozenges in gold, soft blue, grey and cream in this hand-knotted Ghazni, each one filled with delicate floral and geometric detail. Small stars, blossoms and vines fill the spaces between, and a bold golden floral border frames the whole. It is a rich, festive, traditional design with the warmth and glow of a classic tribal Oriental.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from fine, hand-spun Ghazni highland wool, the pile is dense and finely knotted, giving crisp detail across the medallions and border. The red is built from natural madder dye and glows with gentle abrash, and every motif is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

This is a classic tribal Oriental layout — an all-over field of diamond medallions and scattered blossoms, framed by a flowing floral border. Descended from the great village weavings of Persia, it balances geometric tribal drawing with graceful floral detail. Finely knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every medallion is worked by hand and drawn a little differently — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
