Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A warm mushroom brown field carries an all-over cream floral lattice and classical Persian border — the tonal reverse of the Ivory Gabbeh, where light becomes warmth. The earthy ground gives a room an immediate sense of intimacy and calm.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from a wool and silk blend, it is dense and quietly luminous, pairing naturally with timber, leather, and linen, while its darker ground hides everyday dust with ease. Each piece is the work of a single weaver, entirely one of a kind.

Material: A blend of 60 percent wool and 40 percent silk. The wool gives strength, softness, and warmth, while the silk lends sheen and depth of colour.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum gently on low suction without a rotating brush, as silk is delicate.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour and sheen.
  • Entrust any deep clean to a professional rug cleaner experienced with silk.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

This rug is built on one of the oldest ideas in pattern-making: reversal. It takes the same cream floral lattice and classical Persian border as the Ivory Gabbeh and flips the colours, setting the pale tracery against a deep mushroom brown so the design reads as warmth rather than light. Brown is the most grounding of colours, and here it brings a cafe-like, nature-led calm that pairs naturally with raw materials and artisan interiors. Small variations in colour and weave throughout are the signature of genuine hand-knotting, the mark of a single weaver and a one-of-a-kind piece.
