Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

An antique ivory ground, soft and luminous, carries an all-over floral lattice in warm taupe and beige, framed by a classical scrolling vine border. The effect is quiet and timeless, a rug that settles into a room rather than competing with it.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, it is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The pale, versatile palette suits both traditional and modern interiors, and the small irregularities of the weave mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Gabbeh takes its name from a Persian word meaning raw or natural, a nod to the honest, soulful character of these tribal weavings. Here that heritage is carried into a more refined floral lattice, the antique ivory ground keeping the mood calm and light while the taupe and beige vinework adds gentle movement and depth. The pale palette is an easy foundation for both traditional and modern interiors. Small variations in colour and weave are the mark of a genuine handmade rug, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
