Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep denim-blue field carries an all-over design of hooked diamonds, güls and star-flowers — worked in red, gold, green and cream — in this hand-knotted Kazak. Angular vines and tribal figures fill the ground, all framed by a red border of güls and rosettes with gold guard stripes. The rich blue ground makes a striking change from the usual reds.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun highland wool, the pile is thick, lustrous and hard-wearing. The colours are drawn from natural dyes, so the blue glows with abrash and every motif is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Kazak is one of the boldest of tribal weaves, descended from the mountain villages of the Caucasus, favouring large, clear motifs on saturated grounds. Here a deep denim-blue field carries an all-over design of diamonds, güls and star-flowers in red, gold and green, framed by a red border of güls and rosettes. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
