A slate blue field carrying two columns of Turkmen güls in cream, apricot, rose and black — an uncommon ground for this weave, which usually runs red or camel. Small cruciform minor güls stand between the columns, and the framing is deep for a runner: several narrow guard bands of rosettes in rose and apricot, with a broad end panel of stepped forms at each end. Cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in wool. The güls are drawn at full size rather than reduced to suit the narrow format, so the rug carries the same emblem a room-sized Bokhara would and simply fits fewer across — two columns instead of five or six. That keeps the design bold in a corridor where a scaled-down repeat would read as busy. At 77×278cm this is a runner for a hallway or a landing, and the dark ground is the practical choice for a space that gets constant traffic.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted, with a natural fringe at both ends. Wool is resilient and forgiving underfoot, which makes this a practical choice for a corridor that gets real use.

The dark ground hides everyday marks well but shows lint and pale fibres more than it shows dirt. A runner takes concentrated traffic down its centre line rather than spread across a field, so use a rug pad and rotate it end for end regularly.

A runner is not a room rug shrunk down, and the güls here show why. Compare one with the güls on a room-sized Bokhara and they are the same size — the weaver has not reduced the emblem to suit the narrow format, but simply fitted fewer of them across, two columns where a wide rug takes five or six. That is the right decision and it is worth understanding: shrink the gül to keep the column count and a corridor rug becomes a band of fine texture that nobody looking down at it from standing height can resolve. Keep the gül and lose the columns, and the design still reads. The ground colour is the other departure. Bokharas are woven on red far more often than anything else, and a slate blue field puts the cream and apricot of the güls against a cool dark rather than a warm one, so the rug reads quieter and more modern without any change to the drawing itself.
